A couple months ago I made the big switch to the Sony brand by buying the A7III and I can honestly say that it was a great investment. I debated that decision for years because of two main reasons. One of the biggest reasons being that I’ve spent the last 5 Years building up my canon gear around the Canon 7D that literally helped me take my career to new levels. The second is that everyone was shooting Sony and I've never been the one to follow the trends.
It all felt like one big Cliché by switching to the brand and having the fear of being perceived as everyone else. Yeah, that was a real perception I had because literally, people with try to place or devalue you just because of the type of equipment you have; welcome to the world of social media. I recall the very day I went to the best buy in McDonough with my wife and we stood In-front of the Sony session as I weighed out the pros and cons of investing all that money into equipment, not knowing if I was a good fit for it or if it was a good fit for me.
It didn’t take long but I had a YOLO moment and was soon at the checkout and then heading out the door with my new gear.
It took me about a week before I even opened the box and unpacked what would become a game changer in my photography journey. Of course, it was a lot of learning curves to overcome because I would even feel comfortable with using it on a shoot. The first thing that really got me was the weight of the camera. It was far less heavy than my 7D with or without the battery grip attached. It was really simple to setup to my shooting needs and once I got rolling it was a wrap! I've shot more work with the A7III including " The Amazon" Feature recently uploaded with Lucy Lu.
